Sponsored by the Institution of Fire Engineers U.S. Branch and funded through a Fire Prevention and Safety Grant by the U.S. Department of Homeland Security, this symposium showcased the efforts of more than 20 local and state organizations.  Over 150 people attended, from Maine to Hawaii, Alaska to Texas, to share information and learn what they can do in their communities to reduce the loss of life and injury from fire.

Programs selected for the presentation have demonstrated a proven track record of reducing the risk of fire loss in their communities and have the potential for implementation in other communities throughout the country.  Model projects and programs from all disciplines of fire prevention will be presented, including engineering, enforcement, education, fire investigation and infrastructure such as training, use of resources and management.
