A study by Vision 20/20 of the challenges to provide fire prevention in rural Kentucky following a series of fatal fires. This report, requested by the Kentucky State Fire Marshal, contains recommendations on strategies that could be used to expand outreach and contact with many communities community.

Dr. Candice McDonald is a former NASA federal agent who has served almost two decades as a firefighter, EMT, EMS officer, CE instructor, fire inspector, and PIO. She is the Deputy Chief Executive Officer of the National Volunteer Fire Council, President of the Cumberland Valley Volunteer Firemen’s Association, and an adjunct marketing professor for Eastern Gateway Community College and the University of Arkansas. She holds a Doctor of Business Administration degree with a specialty in homeland security, a master’s degree in organizational leadership, a bachelor’s degree in organizational management, and an associate degree in human services.
